Cosmetic fillings (also called composite fillings or filled resins) are a combination of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium that creates a tooth-colored filling. They’re used to repair decayed, cracked, fractured, chipped, or worn teeth.
Today, composite fillings, along with silver amalgam fillings, are the most widely used cosmetic fillings.
While durable and last many years, these dental restorations are not permanent and may someday need to be replaced.
